How do you change your Instant Message ID?

On my instant message box my real name shows instead of my yahoo ID. How can I change that?

    It seems that by default if you dont have anything in the name box on that page it puts your real name there. Just put whatever name you want there. :)

Go to the courthouse and legally change your name. That way, the instant message box would show your former name.

I have no other names in my contact details, but my real name still shows..any other suggestions?

go to "messenger" and "my contact details"... a popup box comes up, erase everything that you dont want anyone to see. i only have the bottom part filled out where it asks for my Yahoo ID!

change yr name in the my contact details option in the messenger.

u got so many answers ... let me also add :) in ur Y!messenger click on MESSENGER in the top left corner and then click My Contact Details....there edit ur name and u r done :)
