Can anybody hack into my computer through my IP address, got from Yahoo Messenger?

Why are they tracking the IP address?

Yesterday I was getting very bored sitting at home. So, I thought I will go online on Yahoo Messenger to chat with my friends but none of them were online. So, I was just exploring YM and I got to see "Join A Room"... I went into it and I could see many sections. When I went into Adult Sex chat rooms, I saw that they asked me to copy and paste a link on my browser and when I did that I could enter the chat rooms... When I entered it said, ur IP address will be tracked... Why is it that they are tracking the IP address?? Whats the need for it??? Does anybody know?? I am totally new to this and I have no idea. Please help.

they are tracking it because they want to make sure you are not sending anything illegal to other users, such as viruses and child pornography. As for the people talking for sex chat those are not real. they are just a program to do that just ignore them. If your worried about your ip being traced dont. Your ip address is being tracked to every site you go to. and you cant change that.
