How to text sms through yahoo messenger from a mobile device?

I have a Blackberry 8100,i have just recently found out how to use Yahoo Messenger on the Instant messaging system on my phone. I dont know how to text message (sms) through Yahoo messenger on a phone. For example, a friend of mine is in a another country he dont have a yahoo messenger account, and i only have his number. on my computer, i am able to sms him through Yahoo messenger, but how do i do that on the fone? i do not see an option to send message SMS way (with phone number) please someone help me. If its counfusing please let me know. Thanks

just text it as normal, you must have his # set up through yahoo, text him on yahoo and ask for it
