Is there a way i can stop people from adding me on yahoo messenger?

I keep getting spam people adding me on yahoo messenger and i am sick of it. How do i know this? Simple cause every time they add me they always leave a message saying "Hi Please add me so we can chat" and i never gave them my email or i don't know how they got it. So how can i stop these spammers from adding me?

A few weeks ago I had that ~ I kept getting people wanting to add me ~ I kept pressing no ~ and it stopped after a while ~ I've had no more since ~ so fingers crossed I don't get any more ~

There is an option to 'ignore' so do just that and they don't get added to your list. If they do,simply delete them..........

I don't use the messenger but my daughter does and we share the computer. The messenger keeps popping up asking to be connected and I just hit ignore too. I think they're not really getting to add you if you refuse. So I guess it's just a matter of persistence.
