Why my yahoo voice chat does not work properly?

can anybody tell me what is wrong with my yahoo voice chat? when i use yahoo chat rooms, the chat room participants can hear me but i can not hear them. they send me a written message which says; ' yes, i can hear you'. but i can not hear them. i can hear radio on my internet that means that the speakers are o.k. please tell me how to fix it.
