Yeah, well join the club! After using Live! Messenger for 6 years or so I was also unable to install the new version last year. I tried everything, from downloading the Windows Live Installer to going on site (MSN) and asking questions on the board there, nothing!!!! So it's been me and Yahoo since! ~m~
