Im having trouble with windows live messenger(msn). theres a black box around my smilies. how can i fix it?

everytime i use a smilie, theres black around it, sometimes white. idk how i can fix it. ive tried going to tools and messages and changing the settings there, but it doesnt work. idk know how 2 fix it. its reallllly annoying, please help!!!

Try uninstalling it then reinstalling it. That usually works for me.
