How do I change my display pic to my avatar?

I can't get Messenger display image to change.?

• I've uninstalled and deleted every refernce and file and folder related to Yahoo, then reinstalled fresh. It just won't work!! I can change it to my avatar, and black screen also, but not change pictures. My friends see the last pic I had it on, even if I see only black screen! They do see nothing if I select "display no image". I also am at a loss. Please help us! Thank you.

  Open messenger and where it says ''(online)'', there should be an arrow pointing down. Click on that and it should come up with a list of options. At the bottom it says ''options...''. Click it and you should get a window. And there should be two columns. In the big one there should be a section that says '' Display Picture ''. There should be a tick box and you have to tick it for your picture to show. WARNING: If your picture is still not showing then don't display your Avatar.
