Why can't I change my yahoo Display Name?

Changing a display name that appears under the title bar of Yahoo Messenger.?

  • "Is there a way to change your display name which appears just under the title bar when Yahoo Messenger is opened up. It may be right beside your avatar if one was created? Or is the name that displays the one that the person signed up with and cant be changed unless you start all over again? Im not talking about the profile names, but my actual name shows up and that is the one I wanted to change by usintg a nickname instead.

    Go to your yahoo messenger friends list. Click on messenger, then click on "my contact details", underneath the box in which you could enter your first, last and middle name is a box that says nickname. Enter your nick, save it and you're done.

well...your name could easily be changed (yes, i mean the nickname that you want, and not your name..w/e...) you just have to log into yahoo! mail, and click on "my account" and edit your address/contact information. then you will see the window that tells you to enter your name. you could just enter a nickname from there...and with a prefix included. its not much of a nickname, but thats the only way i know how to do it. ~thats all i know how to do so far.
