What is the difference between MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger?

I already have MSN messenger so would I really want to have Yahoo messenger as well?

I have both of them and I have to say that I like Yahoo way better! With msn messenger, if you sign in as invisible you can not send or receive messages. Where with yahoo you can sign in as invisible and still send and receive. Also you can pick and choose who you want to see you online or not by doing stealth mood. Which works really good for when you want a certain person or people to see that you are online and not the rest. Also the file transfer is alot faster with yahoo.

With Msn messenger If You Log On Invisable You cant send any messegers To your contacts.. With Yahoo Messenger You can Log On Invisable And Still Chat To friends Or Send messegers..You Can also recieve Offlines messgers with msn You Cant.

I have both but much prefer yahoo. Altho there is a new link that you can both together or something now. Not sure what exactly it is.

In short they both do the same job. The main difference is that if you have MSN messenger then in order to chat the other person has to HAVE MSN as well. In the same way if you have Yahoo messenger and you want to chat to the other person they must have Yahoo messenger as well. MSN is not compatable with Yahoo and vice versa. But I have heard that Yahoo messenger has better features.

It totally depends on what messenger your friends are on. Personally, I only have MSN because all my friends have it. However, I do think skype is so much better. You will find out why. I hope it helps!

They are two different messengers but they share the same user database. They both have some unique features. The best thing to do is test them both and use the one you like the most since well you won't lose any of you're friends.
