Cant find place in messenger menu to turn on my avatar?

ive been looking forever to find the place in my messenger menu where you turn on your avatar all i find is directions to turn it on but i cant find the place that the directions describe.PLEASE HELP!

Open Yahoo Messenger On the menu, click on Messenger Click on preferences Click on Display Images Click on Change Default Click on Share My Avatar (you can also customize from there) Click OK Click Apply Click OK
