How do I deactivate Yahoo Messenger?

  • I'm gettting messages from people I don't know. I repeatedly tell them to go away or just delete the messages. I want to deactivate. How?

    you could stop the nonsense. Click messenger top left in the messenger window scroll down click preferences then scroll, click ignore list. In the next window you will see where to add people to your ignore list or you could check ignore anyone not on my friend's list. Click o.k If you want to be right out of it remove it from your pc. Click start lower left on your desktop. Click control panel.Next double click add remove programs. Scroll down and highlight Yahoo messenger. Click remove and follow the prompts.Do the same with other Yahoo messenger related programs.

just close the app and shut it down...IM is nothing but a cesspool of pervs. you could go into preferences and put all those people on the iggy list, but more will follow. try an IM app with a better crowd.. yahoo messenger is crap, as are the trolls on it.

You can only get a message if you are running the program. If you are using the messenger program then uninstall it. If you are using email click the icon to the right of "online contacts". ℬ ℋ
