    Actually, clearing your message won't delete it (as I'm sure you found out, Mark). In fact, as far as I can tell there IS no deleting these status messages. You just keep making new ones and the old ones simply remain there gathering dust. Right now I must have 12-14 status messages, a few are there just because I thought when I reached 10, the oldest would disappear, but no such luck. As long as I'm not stopped from making new ones, it doesn't really matter to me. But it does seem a waste of memory, holding on to so many messages. Yeah, let's get this over with so I can send this in to Staff, I know one of these fans is one of some one's multiple accounts and I want the world to know!!!!

You can clear your current status message by clicking on the down arrow next to the Status Message box, and then clicking on "Clear my Status Message!". This applies to Yahoo Messenger. If you want to change the custom message in Email chat, you can do so by signing in as "Available". Then click on "Custom Status Message". Type your new message in the box and then click on "OK". I don't think you can delete it all together. You can only change it.

Depends on your version of Messenger - I have Version 10 Yahoo! Messenger > Messenger 10 > Managing IM How do I delete my custom status messages? Last Updated: August 24, 2009 Yahoo! Messenger "remembers" the last 9 custom status messages you create. If there are currently 9 custom messages in Messenger's memory and you add a new one, it forgets the oldest one and replaces it with the new one. Although there's no way to manually delete the old custom status messages, they'll be deleted as you make new ones.

i needed to change my message and i did it exactly as jennifer has described so i dont know how you can say it is wrong whe yahoo tell you to do it that way
