i just installed yahoo im. how do i look for people that are online and i can click on to and start talking. i had yahoo messenger years ago and you used to be able to do it. but now it is a pay dating service if you want to send email or chat. is there a way?

if you know someones ID then all you have to do is add it and you will then be able to see if they are online or not. The thing you have to remember about Yahoo now is there are a lot more children on here than ever before. children as young as 9 and even younger are using it so to protect those children they had to keep IM id's private.
