  • I have just bought a DELL laptop 5.4 and have downloaded yahoo messenger 8.1 - my problem is that when I invite my friend to conference to Voice chat, the TALK button stays gray and doesnt turn green and both me and my friend shows no headsets, which means we are no connected to the conference.

    ARE YOU USING WINDOWS VISTA AND CANNOT GET VOICE IN ROOMS OR CONFERENCES? Yahoo voice in the chat room or in voice conferences (different than PC to PC calling) is not compatible with Windows Vista. Yahoo is releasing a messenger for Windows Vista the second quarter of this year, which means April, May or June. I am hoping for the sake of many they are able to resolve this problem. You can read more about the new messenger as well as view a video preview and leave your email for notification of when it finally comes out. See here http://messenger.yahoo.com/windowsvista.php . There is a possible fix for the voice issue. It has worked for some people but not for others. It is not known yet why it works for some and not others. Make sure you are using the latest building of YM 8.1 (8.1.0.249) before you try this fix.
