I have downloaded both 8 and 7.5 cant get into messenger why?

i have downloaded both messenger 8 and 7.5 i can get into both mail and web page but not into either yahoo messenger..when i try to open messenger it cuts off my computer and when it comes back all of the icons are enlarged and the screen looks funny...why?
