On yahoo messenger, why won't it let me go into yahoo chat rooms?

Ok now when i go into a chat room all i get is 2.0 why cant i get messenger or java and im not useing a mac ??

  • i have a compaq pc and when i try to go to my local chat it wont let me i have to bypass the by location and then go to the change rooms in order to get to my local chat rooms and it wont let me use messenger or java just the 2.0 can some one please tell me whats going on with yahoo chat
