How do I block strangers who are sending unsollicited offline messenger messages?

Every time I login to Yahoo I have "offline messages" in an unknown language {rumanian? some african language?) in the "offline messages - tab". How can I block the senders? How can I change yahoo settings, allowing only my contacts to send mesenger messages?

Go to preferences, ignore list and check the part for only allow those on contact list to im you.
