Is it possible to retrieve my old yahoo email address book?

How can I stop sound alerts in IM when someone in my email address book logs on to their yahoo email?

All of a sudden something happened to my yahoo IM. I am being notified in my IM, by sound alerts, when people in my yahoo email address book log on to yahoo. (not yahoo IM) II do not know how to disable this. I went to the address book part of my friends list and deleted them from there. But that did not help. They have never been on my friends list as a buddy. Can you tell me what to do to stop being notifited in IM when someone in my email address book logs on to send an email? Thank you Gravce
Answer:

Go to your preferences in your messenger window and then to Alerts & Sounds. You Can turn off all alerts just by un-checking the box for "Enable alert sounds" OR if you just want to disable the one for mail alerts then click on "I receive a message in yahoo mail". to highlight it then below that in the Alert me By section un-check all the boxes to stop any more alerts for receiving a mail.
