How do you configure browser proxy settings in a centralized fashion?

How do you configure your proxy/firewall settings for yahoo msger?

  • i got a new windows vista computer the other day, and when i try to sign into yahoo messenger, its says, " We were unable to sign you into Yahoo Messenger. LAN/Firewall Users; • Setup Proxy - if you know your proxy settings, you can configure them here. • Help - need more help, get it here." i tryed both of them, and i still cant figure it out. - any help on how to fix it??

  • Answer:

    go to the security setting in your control panel / and see if your firewall is on .. if it is click applications and allow yahoo messenger to pass thru ... if its off select connection tab in messengers preferences and choose ... no network detected .. this bypasses firewalls and proxies
