In my IM list my contacts don't show up- instead my add.book appears.Why? how can I fix it?

I wanted to add a new name to my I.M list of contacts, it said to use my add.book to get the name and infor.after I did and wanted to return to my list all my names in my add. book are showing up on my I.M. list. How can I have just my contacts and not my whole add.book show up? Thank You

To display your IM contact list (not your address book): On your Yahoo Messenger, click the 'Contacts' tab, then click 'Show Messenger List' or press Ctrl + Tab on your keyboard.
