How do I change my name from being shown?

How do I change the display name shown to people talk to on yahoo messenger?

• I set my yahoo messenger, but I cannot figure out how to change my display name for people. I know how when I first request and to go on my messenger list, but this also the display name this person will always see. Or will they see the display name I first installed on. I would like to permanently change that display name why don't have to keep changing it. They really should have a setting to permanently change the display name. I hope we do I hope I just can't find it. Please help.

  Go to your yahoo messenger friends list. Click on messenger, then click on "my contact details", underneath the box in which you could enter your first, last and middle name is a box that says nickname. Enter your nick, save it and you're done.
