Why is yahoo messenger acting like this and how can I fix it?

How do i fix the nickname that appear in my yahoo messenger to reflects the actual yahoo id?

• i recently open an account and when i use messenger, my nickname changed to the name tht i provide in profiles field rather thn my actual yahoo ID. For example, say my yahoo email is:- [email protected] and , instead of appearing as free2ask in yahoo messenger (nickname), it shows as Ms ans. How do i fix it?

  If you are using Yahoo Messenger 8.1.0.413 , Click on messenger/my contact details/fill in the information you want it to say/save and close, and/or add yourself to your contacts, and go to your name and change it to whatever you want. You can also click "my profiles", then click edit on the profile you want to change, then change your ID from your name to the ID you want to use.
