Why I can't put my mobile # in my YM?

Why cant I set permanently offline to some one in my YM list??

  • I can set permanently offline to some in my YM...but there are some I can not?? ( I am using YM for Mac). Why ?? and pls show me the way I can set permanently offline to all. Thanks.

    Note: This answer pertains to MAC only. The aswer is different for windows You must use version 9 beta in order to get stealth settings -ok I just read The previous answer is not wrong, but not entirely correct either. You must use Version 9 or Stealth settings won't work on a MAC So that may be the reason why you had a problem. That is one way you can appear offline: I have found that The easiest way to do this is to reset the whole thing- Go thru and 'appear online to all" For Contacts i want to appear offline permamently; create a group of these people that you want to and then choose the setting - appear perm offline Those that you know you want online in another group and Part time - another group. If you belong to a game league- put all your players into a group You can even send the group a status message. It would appear that I was WRONG! Thank you Karylle! Please do not follow these directions!! If I had a MAC, I would have known that Mac's YM are different than PC. I appologize... please feel free to send me an e-mail informing me of this mistake, I do accept criticism! Just do not be rude, that is one thing I will be very likely to hold against you (not that it would do any good, but hey, I'd be holding it against you!) The following is INCORRECT: "YM does not have the ability to "select" individually who you can appear online or offline (invisible) to. It's either all, or none." The following is CORRECT (at least I hope so): "To make yourself appear offline (invisible) to everyone (I am assuming that PC YM is the same as MAC YM): 1. Open YM. 2. Select Messenger from the menu at the top of YM. 3. Select Privacy. 4. Put a check mark in the first check-box that says: "Always sign in as invisible. (Appear offline to all users.)" 5. Click on the OK button (at the bottom of the window.)" This will make you appear invisible to everyone, it does not have the ability to make you invisible to a single person or persons.
