How do I change my name on Messenger?

How do I change my display name on Yahoo messenger so that noone on my contact list will ever see my real name

  • Currently, my real name is displayed when I send an instant message to someone, but I don't want anyone to ever see my real name. I want to use a screen name instead. How do I change that so my real name is never reavealed? I'm using Yahoo messenger version 8.1.0.401

First off, you will need to go to your account page. Down about mid way it has some contact information about you. Well you need to make up something in there that you wish to use on the contact information page. (miss xxx) or something off base like that. Your real name still will show up at the top of the account page and that's ok it has to. After you make up this nonsense name . Be sure to save it and then go back to messenger and go to the contact information page like this other person has instructed you to do. Put the nonsense name in there. Be sure to use a first and a last or otherwise if you just fill in one space. It will fill in the real information on the second line. For instance if you only put in a first name ( miss) in the last name field it may just show up with your real last name. so (miss) (xxx) and now you will not send your real name on your contact information. I got this awhile back from yahoo help, so believe me it's true.
