Yahoo signed me up to Messenger 9 and now my IM Message Box has lost the scroll bar. How can I get it back on?

I did nothing to sign up for it, and now I can only IM until the message reaches the bottom of the box, and then my writing disappears under the border. What can I do to get the scroll bar back so I can see what I'm writing?
