Yahoo messenger problem, it won't open?

How do I set yahoo messenger to open links in internet explorer - error problem?

  • Hi. I run yahoo messenger version 6.1922 (on windows), and today, the "open links in new window" has seemed to stop working when it's a link sent to me by a friend in an instant message window. It has started to open in the same window, and it's EXCEEDINGLY annoying. I do NOT want to upgrade to versions 7 or 8, because it's full of lots of BT trash which I do not want. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? NOTE: I have ALREADY clicked and applied the "open links in new window" option in the preferences.
