How do I add someone from Windows Live Messenger to my Yahoo online list?

Ok, how do I add someone to my online list on Yahoo? I have the 8th version. I can't Instant Message to this person with out adding them to the online list. Please help!!!

Open Messenger click 'contacts' click 'import contacts' uncheck yahoo mail address book ( top one) check hotmail /windows live / msn continue >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
