How do I permanently delete a contact from my Yahoo Messenger?

  • How do I permanently remove someone from your Yahoo Messenger... I have tried the Ignore Feature, I have deleted the Contact Information, and I have deleted the user name from the Messenger list... nothing works. Every time this person signs in and out it disrupts what ever I am doing. The Yahoo Messenger window flies in my face and stays forever. The contacts name does not appear in the Messenger Window when this happens. It is just the sign in and out process. This is really disruptive. Has anyone else had this problem?

    You need to put a contact on your Ignore List first, otherwise he can still see you when you are online and send you a message, because your ID is still on his Messenger list. Here's what to do: right click on their icon -> scroll down to stealth settings -> change them to appear permanently offline. Then click on messenger (top left on the messenger window) -> click preferences -> scroll down to ignore list -> click and in the next window add them to your ignore list -> click o.k. Then go back -> right click their icon and delete. Note: there is a limit of 100 names that you can put on permanent ignore.

i think you need to uninstall that messenger if the problem persists even if you had completely deleted that person. it sounds like my friend who had problem like that even putting on the ignore list and her ignore list is just a couple of contacts and did not over limit as what the other said 100persons only. when i told her to uninstall the program properly and reinstall it, she did not encounter the same problem anymore. (though i can't guarantee)
