How do i change my yahoo IM display name?

How can u change your buddies display name in yahoo im whenever i recieve a message in private chat?

  First, he/she has to be on your contact list. When you've added them to your contact list, right click their name and choose "Contact Details". When the "Contact Details" window pops up, use the Nickname section to write in whatever display name you want for them. This Nickname will be the name that appears to you no matter what name is in the "First" and "Last" section. If you ever want their first and/or last name to appear on your messenger list, type it in the First and Last name fields and leave the "Nickname" section blank. Update: I forgot to add that in order for the nickname (or first and last name) to show up on your list you have to: 1. Click the Messenger tab 2. Choose Preferences 3. Choose Appearances and then 4.
