Why doesn't messenger play sounds everytime I receive IMs from my friend?
-
When I receive an IM, a windows apens and plays a sound. But this happens only the first time I receive a IM from a friend. If the friend sends me another IM, and the window is still open, it doesn't play a sound again. Before, with the old version, the 7.0, it olayed a sound everytime I received a IM, if the window was opened or closed. Why?.

Answer:
It's a sound to notify you of a message. If the window is open and on top of all other windows then it won't play a sound because you don't need to be notified that you got another message....you can already see for yourself that you got a message. If you have the message window open but have other windows open and on top of the message window, then it will sound off to notify you since you can't see for yourself that another message has come through. LOL...now I've confused myself but I hope it helped anyway.
