How can you erase who you have chatted with in the past?

How do i erase the list of recent chats in my yahoo messenger ?

• when i click on the drop down button next to 'type an email address' i see a big list of people with whom i recently chatted with...what do i do to erase it??

  You should be able to erase it, but it will pop back up if they have not erased it, the next time you talk to them. In my own experience, anyway.
