How do you turn off Yahoo profile updates on Yahoo Messenger?

I unintentionally signed up for a Yahoo profile while I was trying to find my mobile settings... But with that mistake, now every time I don't have a status up of my own on Yahoo messenger... The stupid update from my profile comes up as my status. "Profile update has updated ____" I hate it and I want to remove it. I didn't even mean to make my profile on Yahoo, it was just a missclick. I've gone to the "Manage my Updates" thing and unchecked the box to share my updates but the update is still there on my messenger as my status. I want it off, dang it! lol Anyone know how I can turn it off? Or if I can even delete my Yahoo profile? This is extremely annoying. :P Thanks for the help.
Answer:

Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner of the Messenger Pane. Click on "Manage Updates I Broadcast". This will take you to your Profile page. UNTICK the box "Share my Updates". Click on "Save" at the bottom of the page. You will also need to change your settings under your "My Profile". Click on "My Profile">"Edit my info". Make sure "Don't share my Updates" is selected and saved.
