Make a note of their user name and email address. Right click on their avatar, scroll down and hit 'Delete' Left click ( > ) Messenger > Preferences > Ignore List Select - "Ignore only the people below" Click Add - type in contacts name or email address Click - Ignore Make sure they are on Ignore List Click Apply Click OK You will remain on their friends list but will show offline Make sure their details have been removed from your online address book, I think the recent server work has included this, but worth a check http://address.mail.yahoo.com I dont know important it is for you to remove yourself from their list.
