How do I change the name under my picture?

How do I change my name, by my picture in yahoo IM. everytime I add a new contact, it changes to their name?

It doesn't work, I have tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it, that doesn't work, So, how do I do it and how do I make it stay. c.lisney

  I am wondering if on the add request you have accidentally clicked the part where you can change the name people see you as, and you thought it was for the other person's name which really meant you are changing your Contact's Details and not your own. So let's get that sorted out so you will not need to change anything on the add request window. And even if that is not the reason for your problem, this at least is a way to get your name showing instead of somebody else's. DISPLAY NAME AT TOP OF Y!M AND IN THE IM WINDOW 1. Click Messenger at top of Y!M. 2. Click My Contact Details. 3. Put in the first name and last name you want people to see when they add you. It is best not to use your real name. I would use True as my first name and Colors as my last. 4. Add a nickname if you want one. When you do, this is what will show at the top of Y!M. If you do not, then what you entered for your first name and last name will show at the top. 5. Click Save & Close. Test this with a few of your friends and ask them what name they see for you (not what you see) as you post messages. If it is not your name then you will have to follow through with these steps for those who have already added you. 1. Ask your friends to delete you and then add you again after you change My Contact Details. 2. Ask your friends to manually change your contact details by right clicking your name on their messenger list and selecting Contact Details and then putting in the information you want them too. This is not really practical if you have a lot of contacts. 3. You can actually send your messenger contacts your new Contact Details. Click Actions at the top of Y!M and choose Send My Contact Details. A box will pop up and you can send your new Contact Details to as many friends as you want. Just hold down the Ctrl key when selecting multiple contacts. Follow the prompts. Please note though for some odd reason if you put a Nickname in My Contact Details it will not send but your new first name and last name will. ============= OK so now when you add a contact or a contact add you, you do not need to change anything on the add request window because you will have My Contact Details set as you would like.
