Why won't my avatar display?

Why won't my display image or avatar show up after I change it?

Yesterday I wanted to change my display image on my Yahoo messenger and it wouldn't change. Instead I see a black box. My friend said it still showed up as the old image to her. I switched to my avatar and that worked fine, my friend could see it too. Then I decided to change what my avatar was wearing and when I saved it that went black too. Now neither avatar or display image will show up. Is this my problem or Yahoo's and am I the only one having it happen?

I UPGRADED TO THE NEWEST VERSION..I CAN NO LONGER SEE CONTACTS AVATARS, NO IMVIRONMENTS, AUDIBLES STOPPED WORKING AND MAIL AVATAR ON MY YAHOO PAGE IS DIFFERENT THAN MY MESSENGER PAGE...YOU TELL ME. YAHOO DID NOT HAVE ANSWER FOR ME. UNINSTALLED ALL AND REINSTALLED. NOW LOST TOOLBAR. I AM DONE!
