How do you deleted your AIM account?

Why does my real name show up on aim where did it get it from?

• ok so i got rid of my real name by deleting the nickname thing but everytime i go as if im instant messaging myself, it sais (my real name) my s/n is available. what I dont get is where is it getting my real name from. I thought making a aim screen name was just easy and people just see your s/n only no questions asked. I think this because I have soo many people on my buddy list and everytime I go to i/m them it doesnt say their name only their screen name. I dont know if it got my real name from the email i put down when i made my aim account and also on my aim account i already deleted my real name on there so i dont get it. what pisses me off is that even if it got my real name from some source like my email or whatever, I just did the same thing every other kid did to get a s/n yet NONE of the 40 or so friends i got on aim have this problem. Its just stupid. what can I do ive been trying to get rid of my real name on there for hours now and i dont know about you but whats the point of s/n's being cool anymore if your real names just going to show up everywhere.

  you can change your real name to you nick name for example if you go to sn type the name you want second go to your real name and type your sn for your first name and in the last name box hit space if it makes you choose a last name pick one. thats a last resort go to your prefercneces go to messages or im's depending on which version your using and on the side bar look for an option that says apperances. de select to show your full name you may also find this option on your main profile screen it will say show my full name uncheck that box. i would also recomend sending an im to a friend and asking them what name appears it could be just that when you im yourself you see your real name. Check your prefernces and profile look for the option to hide name or deselect full name. and agian it may be something that only your seeing if you want try it once you've fixed it try illinoiseboi thats one of my old screen names ill be logged in for a short time longer if your friends are offline
