How do I fix yahoo messenger?

My yahoo messenger displays my first and last name to everyone I talk to!? how do I fix it?

  • I downloaded Yahoo! messenger (8.1.0.209) just the other day and besides advertising my name to every psycho on the internet its pretty cool. I'm using msn as my homepage still and I have msn messenger on the same pc. The Yahoo!messenger version I have has no edit button which is what yahoo! help recommended. I won't use it if I can't fix this so if anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong it would be appreciated.

    I'm not sure if this will help you. But try this. While you have messenger open at the top press messenger and then pick contact details, see if your name is printed, if it is, delete it from there and that will remove your name. Not sure if I have the same program, but worth a try.
