Why won't my Yahoo Display Name change?

How can you change your display name in yahoo messenger?

  • So im actually trying 2 find this answer 4 my dad. He wants 2 know how your able 2 change your display name on yahoo messenger, Like righ now his current display name is Robb on yahoo messenger, but he wants it to say Robb Porter on his yahoo messenger display name. so when he IMs his Cilents it will say Robb Porter, i actually am not quit sure. so i was hoping that some 1 out there will know, i appreciate some help if any :) O and also if your change the yahoo display name on messenegr will it have the same efefct on his yahoo email? If any 1 knows please give us some ideas, ty :)

    To change display name in Yahoo!Messenger: Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner. Click on "My Contact Details". Change your name in the top boxes and change your name under "Nickname". Click on "Save and Close" at the bottom. (now REboot Yahoo Messenger for proper changes to occur.) It does Not change his Yahoo email id in any way. Best of Luck to You.

on the messenger, click Messenger > My Contact Details :enter the name he wants to be displayed. hit Save and Close. log out and close the messenger. note: if he had been added before as Robb only, his friends will still see as Robb. but future friends will see the new one which is Robb Porter. so better inform those who had listed him already on the Mail, click Option > Manage > General : enter the name to be displayed on email, hit Save and sign out. close the browser.
