How do i get yahoo messenger on my computer?

PLEASE HELP!How do I get the Yahoo Messenger sign in page to stop popping up every time I get on my computer?

  • So, i got Yahoo Messenger so that i could talk to one of my friends (that doesn't have a myspace) over the internet. Okay, so i log onto my account on the laptop that i share with my sister and every time, the Yahoo Messenger sign in page pops up. IDK why. So far i havent even used YM yet i don't really need to. I have Myspace IM. I think it works better than YM would. And it has an icon that you can click on when you want to get on. is there an icon that u can get for YM? PLEASE HELP ME. WHAT SHOULD I DO???

    Click on messenger top left in the window, scroll down, click preferences then click general, untick start messenger automatically on startup and untick wait until I connect to the internet then click o.k.
