How do I get Yahoo Messenger to sign out automatically?

How do I get yahoo messenger not to automatically sign in when I turn on my computer?

• We have XP, and when my wife signs on her account, yahoo messenger automatically pops up. She doesn't want this to happen. What settings do I have to change, and where can I find them?

  When the messenger opens, left-click on messenger, scroll down to Preferences...Click on 'general' and the first option there is 'when i start up my computer;' uncheck that first box. Also,on the very front of the ym window are the options of 'remember my id' the next is automatically sign in...you'll have to uncheck that too. hope that helps...if that doesn't work, i would uninstall, then re-install ym, and make sure you don't click the box that says to automatically launch ym when you start your computer.
