How do I delete my mobile device from Yahoo Messenger for Mac Ver 3.0.1 beta 235554?

  • I would like to remove/delete my mobile device from my Yahoo Messenger for Mac Version 3.0.1 beta 235554. It only gives me an option to change my device in the General section of the Preferences. Also, even if I uncheck the box for 'Sign me into my mobile device' Y!M continues to send me notices. When I go back to Preferences the box is again checked.

    To change the telephone number for your current mobile device or send your messages to a new mobile device, you first need to delete your current mobile device. How to delete your current mobile device: Sign in to Yahoo! Messenger on your computer. Click the Messenger menu and select Preferences. The Yahoo! Messenger Preferences window opens. Under Category, click General, and the General information displays at the right. Click Edit Mobile Phone in the lower part of the window. The Yahoo! Mobile/ page opens. In the Other Mobile Devices section, click the trash can icon located under Delete. (There should only be one entry to delete.) The DELETE THIS DEVICE window opens. Select Remove alerts for this device from the DELETE THIS DEVICE window. Click Delete Device to confirm.
