How do you send messages on Yahoo?

How can I change from my realname to my yahoo Id to send messages?

  • When I send a message from my messenger it shows my real name. I do NOT want my real name to show when i send a message, I want my yahoo Id name to showwhen I send a message... How do i get to have my yahoo name to show when sending messages and NOT my real name???? thanks

    1) Right click on yourself and hit instant message 2) Click on Conversation 3) Click on Preferences 4) Click on Appearance At the bottom of that page it will have two options, real name or yahoo id. Hope that helps!

at the top toolbar go to Messenger>my contact details>under nickname put your user name SHOULD WORK if not e-mail me at [email protected]

After you sign into yahoo messenger.. click on Messenger at the top of the window then on the drop down window click on my account . You will be asked to verify your password and sign in again. Once you are in your account, click on EDIT/CREATE PROFILES link on the right side of the Account Information page. Then click the EDIT again just right next to your yahoo ID. Once you are in your profile click on EDIT PROFILE INFORMATION once more and then change and type the name you want where it says REALNAME or a nickname.Lastly click on SAVE CHANGES ON THE right bottom of the page.
