When I choose a pic of myself as a display image, it won't allow me. i have pics but it wont display them HELP

i have many pics to pick from but when i choose one of them it wont display it. in the main messenger window theres the yahoo smiley face in the place of my pic and in the message windows theres just a black box. it will however display my avatar but not any of my pics. i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and knows how to troubleshoot it. PLZ i love to display my images!

maby your pic is over the memory limit coz the same thing hapend 2 me just choose a smaller image

they have to be jpeg images

make sure your images are in the correct format jpeg, if they aren't you can click on the pics and re-save them as jpeg the try to upload them again
