How can I permanently block someone from my yahoo messenger list?

I am not talking about yahoo mail or the new chat from inside yahoomail. I am talking about the older yahoo messenger you can use without signing in to your email account. It is easy to delete a contact but how can I block it for good?

Right click on his name in the Messenger Window and then click on "Delete". Then add him to your "Ignore List" as follows: Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner. Click on "Preferences". Click on "Ignore List". Click on "Ignore only the People Below". Add the person in the white box and click on "Add". Click on "Apply" followed by "OK".
