How to change my nickname?

How do I change my nickname on Yahoo Messenger?

  • I'm trying to figure out how to change my nickname (I guess that's what Yahoo calls it???) on messenger. At the top of my messenger window, under Messenger, Contacts, ect it has a nickname that I entered awhile back. If I click on it, it gives me the option to invisible, ect. I want to change that nickname, but can't figure out how. And of course, the help feature isn't much help at all. Can anyone please help me change it?

  • Answer:

    Click on "Messenger" in the top left hand corner. Click on "My Contact Details". Change your name in the top boxes and also under "Nickname". Click on "Save and Close" at the bottom. You will also have to ask your Contacts to change your name in their Contact Details for you. They can do this by right clicking on your name in the Messenger Window. Then clicking on "Contact Details", changing your name in the top boxes and/or "Nickname" and clicking on "Save and Close" at the bottom. This will not be necessary for any new Contacts you add.

How do I change my nickname?Just click the Nickname link to enter a nickname. If you want Pingbox to remember your nickname, make sure you check Remember Me. This way your Nickname will continue to be yours on this person's Pingbox until you change it.
