How do I send my contact list to someone else?

When I delete someone from my contact list They can still see me online and send me IMs, How do I block them?

  • when use the setting appear permanently offline they can still send me offline messages there is no block contact button on my yahoo messenger. I am using version 8.1.

    The permanently offline feature only works if they stay on your list. As soon as you deleted them, you removed the permanently offline status. You can't block them...but you can ignore them. Messenger 8.0 and 8.1 have the ignore button in the IM box. What you do, if they send you a message is that you look in the right hand corner (this is where the ignore button will be if they are not on your list anymore) and click it. It's a red circle with a line through it. You can also go to actions in that window, and at the top of the drop down menu is "contact options" with an arrow. Mouse over that and see if the "ignore user" option is lit up. The only downside is, if you're like me, you tend to have a lot of people on ignore because of their constantly bugging you. I always end up having to empty my ignore list and then get stuck putting them back on ignore when they IM me again.

There's a setting somewhere in Yahoo that hides you when you're online. Also, if you remove the person from your allowed IM list and they IM you, *then* you can block them.

one way to avoid it is that before deleting the contact you should block them.there is an option to block the contact when you click right.
