How can I download YM with an older Mac?

Ym is corrupt. it won't let me uninstall to find a clean download. how do i grt rid if ym to get a new ym..il?

    Messenger "9" 1st version was in Beta (testing) form. The newest version is not, But it's not working well either.Try using 8.1 "the newest before 9", until they work out the Bugs. Including people using 8.1 or older versions trying to message ones with 9 or reverse they are having compatibility problems; like text not showing,pictures not showing.Chat rooms not found or opening. It shuts down on Vista users , not allowing people to log in.Web cams do not always work. Many things do not work or are missing that YM 8.1 has. It Seems for Vista users it is so buggy Yahoo is giving up on it and are no longer trying to fix it. http://www.ymessengerblog.com/blog/2008/... You need to remove version 9 completely 1st to Get version 8 to work best.Left over files and fragments from using control panel to remove messenger can cause problems/conflicts with the new download. to uninstall, go to the control panel > add/remove programs. choose yahoo messenger and java and delete it. now, if you can't manually uninstall the messenger, use a third party program to uninstall it, i recommend you to use ZSoft Uninstaller. download that program and it will do the rest for you. then you can uninstall it also after uninstalling messenger.
