Is my MSN account being used by someone else?

Why can't Yahoo! Messenger alert sounds be heard when someone else's user account is being used?

• When Yahoo! Messenger is running in my account but someone else is using the computer in their own account, I can't hear any alert sounds when I get an instant message, although the alert sounds settings in the messenger are OK and when my account is being used, it works perfectly well. What should I do if I want to hear alert sounds while someone else's account is being used?

  they may not have set their settings to receive alert sounds. they would need to go to messenger, preferences then alerts and sounds to activate this feature. just because you have done it on your settings does not mean it will work with theirs. good luck.
