Why are ID's suddenly showing on my messenger instead of real names?

How do people take their names,ids,off MY messenger list? I want to take my name off others messenger lists.?

  • At least 3 people have taken THEIR names off my messenger list.I want to take my name off a couple persons list.Blocking someone does NOT stop them from messenging you,I did a test 5 times,blocking a friend and taking him off my list,he wrote me back on YHIM and email,AFTER I blocked him,5 times,so peoples advice here has been wrong.Several people I blocked over the past 3 years are still contacting me on YHIM ! I hoped someone knew of a way to get a real block done,better yet,how did those 3 people take their names off MY messenger list? Thanks alot

You can't take your name off of someone else's friends list. Once you become friends with someone else, only they can delete you off their own list. The only thing that you can do is 'report' the person for harassment. If the service provider takes the matter seriously, they will permanently delete the other persons account, and block the IP address.

question: "How did you block these people?" if you can give the correct procedure then i can adhere you that people who have been advising on how to block were wrong. coz, if i were the one who have to block people whom i don't want to receive messages, i can assure you that there messages cannot enter into my window! take note on this portion: "he wrote me back on YHIM and email" lol. this person is not contacting you on YMessenger but rather on YHIM and email. so no wonder why you still can receive the messages (email messages over the YHIM and email). hope you know what you are asking about also! *i had searched about YHIM and not related to the Yahoo Messenger.
